1.
Who and what is Xampy?
Xampy is a free online music streaming service that allows music artists to upload their songs and demos. Xampy promotes all new talent and music samples submitted on our website to major record companies giving them more of a chance to get recognised and eventually obtain a record contract. Xampy also holds random music contests and events. The winner will be given a guaranteed music record deal with any of the music record companies registered in our database. Xampy.com was established in 2004 as a private company with the sole aim of promoting unsigned, talented, independent music artists or bands. Our partners are proud to be connected with Xampy.com due to the easy to use promotion & review facility offered on our website.
2.
Who are your partners?

Xampy.com has a variety of partners in the music industry. All partners have an exclusive contract and agreement to use Xampy.com as a resource site for new talent. Your music or talent may be useful to them for different purposes such as for concerts, sales, movies and even games. Please note that your music is protected by Xampy.com and that for any deal or agreement, our partners will contact you directly for further information. Xampy.com does not intervene, but provides direct access and communication between artists and members on our site with our agents in the music industry.

3.
Is Xampy really free?
Yes, anyone can submit and download music free of charge.
4.
How does music get featured?
Xampy's members rate music they like, and we review highly-rated and recent music for consideration in 'Featured Artist & Music'. In addition, we take recommendations from members at info@xampy.com and scan the site for music of interest. Music is promoted to record companies who review your music samples. The higher the rating, the more you get promoted. Please note that gold members get promoted automatically.
5.
Whats the difference between a Free, Agent or Gold Account?
All accounts share the basic features on Xampy such as uploading, commenting, sharing, music responses, etc. Each of the specialised account types offers different customization options:
  • Free: A free account allows you to upload unlimited music and use all the basic features on our site. It does not include video uploads although some basic promotion is included.
  • Gold: Gold accounts have the same features as the Free account, but also offers members the opportunity to upload videos, add commercial music, and account holders are promoted via a weekly mailing list to all major record companies.
  • Agent: Agents are private accounts for music entrepreneurs and companies who specialise in music distribution and promotion. The system provides agents with a clean and easy to use overview of the members and music listed on our site. Agents will also receive emails on a regular basis containing new talent and music that has been submitted on our site, customised to their music preference.

For more information about Xampy's copyright policy, please view our terms and conditions.
11.
What are you doing to prevent copyright material from appearing on your web site?
Since all content on Xampy is posted by our members, we make it clear in our terms of use and at the time of upload that they must own the copyright to the music or video they post or have permission from the copyright holder. We take copyright issues very seriously and encourage copyright holders to contact us if they have any objections about specific music or videos-we will cooperate with them to take down any infringing content immediately. Repeat and flagrant offenders of the terms of use are addressed with proprietary technology.
12.
How do I report copyright material?
If you believe that someone else has uploaded your copyrighted content without your permission, please contact us to submit a copyright notification or use the abuse feature presented in each profile.
13.
What if I have been falsely accused of copyright infringement?
We'll let you know if we receive a copyright complaint about any of your music content that is hosted on Xampy. We'll also give you the opportunity to file a DMCA counter-notification.
14.
How do I report inappropiate music?
If you hear a video that you think is inappropriate based on our terms and conditions, you can report it to us for review by clicking the "report abuse" link located on the profile page.
15.
How does Xampy handle inappropiate content?

How do I remove music?
You can remove your music by logging into your account and by going to "Video & Music Management". Use the delete option located on the right hand side of each song.
17.
How do I make my own music?
There are many ways to create music. Your main concern should be obtaining your music qualities into a digital format ready for upload to our site such as a digital media recording device. You can also use programs such as FL Studio available at http://www.flstudio.com which allows you to save your music automatically into a media format such as MP3 or AVI. For more information, please visit this page...
18.
Do I have to sign up to upload music?
Yes. Since music is attached to your profile, you must sign up as a member to upload songs. Becoming a member also allows you to save music, create your favourite playlist, and leave comments, among many other features.
19.
How long does my music stay on Xampy?
Music files stay on Xampy until the members who uploaded them choose to take them down. Music files which violate the terms of use and have been flagged may be taken down by Xampy itself.
20.
What music file formats can I upload?
Music files can only be uploaded in MP3 format.
21.
How long will it take to upload my music?
Depending on your connection speed and the size of the music file, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to upload a song. Generally, if you have a high-speed internet connection you can expect the upload to take somewhere between 1-5 minutes for every 1MB. However, the experience is different for every user because of the variation in connection speeds.
22.
I cannot hear the music playing, what's wrong?
All of the music on Xampy is streamed through a Flash player, so you need to have the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed on your computer. To download it, please visit Adobe.
23.
While does the music start and stop while listening?
If a music file doesn't play continuously, it may be due to your connection speed. You'll need a broadband connection with at least 200+Kbps for the best listening experience. It's also possible that our servers are experiencing high traffic, which sometimes affects the speed. If this is the case, there is not much you can do, but we are continuously adding servers to keep up with demand. Thanks for hanging in there with us as we continue to grow.
24.
My upload's been running a long time and hasn't completed. What should I do?
Uploading a music file can take several hours, depending on the length of your music and the demand on the servers. If your music upload is taking longer than 24 hours to complete, we recommend cancelling the upload, checking the length and settings for your music file, and starting again.
25.
What does the "invalid file format" mean?
It means that the file type of your music isn't supported by the site. Xampy does not currently accept music in Flash (.flv) or RealAudio (.rm) format. You may need to try using software other than the software that came with your digital recording device. Remember that you can only upload files in MP3 format. There is a lot of software available on the internet which can easily convert your music files into the required format.
26.
Can I download music and listen to them later?
Yes. Use the download icon to save the music file onto your computer. You can also add the song to your playlist by clicking on the playlist icon which is then available in your private playlist in your account menu.
27.
How do I clear my search history on Xampy?
Xampy doesn't save your searches, but your browser probably does. If you don't want to see your previous search terms displayed in the search field, you need to clear the search history in your browser.
28.
How do I edit or delete a comment I made on someone else's music?
You can't edit or delete comments you make on other people's music. Once you've made a comment, it can only be removed or moderated by a site administrator.

29.
What do you mean with commercial music and what if somebody buys and downloads my song ?

Xampy.com allows gold members to upload commercial music. This means that gold members can add a price to there song so that other members need to pay a small fee in order to be able to download it. Our service allows users to listen and evaluate the song first before purchasing. Once the member has arranged online payment, the seller will receive the money from Xampy.com into his paypal account within 24 - 48 hours. Please note that Xampy.com takes a small commission on your sale for legal insurances and to protect your song on our website during download.
